Hi ,my name is Izak Louw and I just want to say thank you for visiting our online store. I am the owner of Namakate Aquatics , a registered Commercial Ornamental fish farm , specializing in the culturing of Lake Malawian Cichlids in Namibia since 2017. Namakate Aquatics cultures over 56 species of Lake Malawian Cichlids commercially. We only supply via wholesale to Aquatic Stores in Namibia . Namakate Aquatics also is a registered sole importer of Lake Malawian Cichlids with the Namibian Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries. My love for Lake Malawian Cichlids started during 2002 , as a teenager visiting my local Aquatic Store. Purchasing my first " Mbuna " species, and starting to research about all of the cichlid species found in Lake Malawi , I became addicted. They do have a special place in my heart. My outlook is to culture Lake Malawian cichlids as a naturalist , and to share them with fellow aquarist. I also do scientific work for the Blue Earth Institution as a board member. The Blue Earth Institution is an organization focusing on the preservation of Lake Malawian Cichlids. The preservation of Lake Malawian Cichlids is of paramount importance in todays world where the Lake , as a functioning ecosystem is in decline year after year. Looking back in hindsight , the Lake is slowly fading away.
